Detailed Tour Itinerary
  • Day 1 Arrival in Leh & Acclimatization 
    • Fly into Leh (Leh Airport, also known as Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport).
    • Check into your hotel and rest to acclimatize to the high altitude (around 11,000 feet/3,350 meters).
    • In the evening, take a short walk and visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace for panoramic views.
  • Day 2 Sham Valley & Local Sightseeing 
    • Embark on a day trip to Sham Valley (also known as the “Apricot Valley”).
    • Visit Alchi Monastery, Likir Monastery, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, and Sangam (Indus and Zanskar river confluence).
  • Day 3 Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La 
    • Drive to Nubra Valley (approx. 130 km, 4-5 hours).
    • Pass through Khardung La pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world.
    • Enjoy the scenic beauty of Nubra Valley, including Hunder sand dunes and the Nubra river.
    • Optional: Bactrian camel (double-humped) safari in Hunder.
  • Day 4 Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake 
    • Drive from Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake (approx. 140 km, 5-6 hours).
    • The route may involve the Shyok River route, which can be challenging.
    • Enjoy the breathtaking views of Pangong Lake, known for its ever-changing colors.
    • Overnight stay at a campsite or hotel near Pangong Lake.
  • Day 5 Pangong Lake to Leh (via Chang La) 
    • Morning at Pangong Lake.
    • Drive back to Leh, passing over Chang La pass.
    • Visit Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace on the way back.
    • Check back into your Leh hotel.
  • Day 6 Departure from Leh 
    • After breakfast, transfer to Leh airport for your flight back.
    • You can also extend your trip to include Tso Moriri lake, which is another beautiful high-altitude lake.
