Travel Tips

Much before you start your trip, we provide you assurances from our end, some tips about India and also a check list to keep in mind : -

Conversion of Currency:-Since the Indian currency is not easily available outside India, you can buy Indian rupees from the exchange counter just after the immigration. Most of the hotels in India also facilitate you with the exchange of currency. Please do not forget to collect the receipt of the exchange as it helps you for the re conversion at the time of departure.

Health precautions:-We recommend to take health tips from your physician before starting your journey and also carry some basic health care medication, though these medicines are available in most parts of India but since every individual is used to particular brands therefore it is advisable to carry them with you. Stick to bottled water and soft drinks. Please eat moderately for few days and get used to the changes. Generally travelers get themselves insured before starting their journey which is highly recommendable by us also, please make sure it should also include repatriation cost.

Photography:-Though photography is allowed at most of the places but in some temples the cameras are not at all allowed and for carrying cameras in monuments and wildlife parks there is a fee. Video cameras have a higher fee which is not included in your Tour fee and has to be paid directly at the entrance.

Laundry/Hair dryer:-In remote areas, hair dryer and laundry service may not be available, to carry a portable iron and a hair dryer would be a good idea.

Electrical appliances:-A universal adapter is needed to use electric appliances as the voltage in India is 220 Volts and there may not be a compatibility. It can be bought from the airport you fly from or is easily available at the electrical shops in metro cities.

Check In – Check-out:-Our representatives are always there to receive you and see you off at the check-inn and check-out at the airport till the extent they can. Since our representatives tend to take you little early to be on the safer side for check in at the time of departure from India and you may have lot of time in hand after the security check, please carry some material to read. To carry any battery, sharp object and liquids like remote controllers, nail cutter, scissors and lotion in hand bag/cabin bag will be objectionable from security point of view, the same can be carried in check-in baggage.

Shopping:-India is a well know destination for handicraft items and miniature paintings, gemstones, cotton and silk carpets and much more. Please check the level of duty on import in your country. Vat is available on all goods above $400 even if an item is exempt from other import duties.

Clothes and accessories:-Smart casuals are acceptable everywhere. Please carry light and cotton clothes during the day with a pair of comfortable walking shoes. You may please carry your sun shades and a sun hat handy at the time of sight seeing.

It is advisable to avoid sleeveless and short skirts at the temples and monuments. You may also be asked to remove your shoes therefore you may wear little thick socks to avoid any kind of discomfort as floors of some monuments get hot in the summer.

Temperature in Northern India is on the lower side from December till February end especially the mountains are cold and it snows in mid-winter in many of the hill stations including Shimla, Mussoorie, Darjeeling and Manali, we recommend you to carry adequate warm clothes. Middle segment hotels and lodges do not have centralized heating system and may not be carpeted. It is advised to carry your sleeping clothes and slippers.
